Dr. Azra Bhimani received her Medical Degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. She completed her Internal Medicine residency and Chief Residency at UCLA, followed by fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at UCLA. She joined the faculty at Olive View-UCLA, where she serves as Medical Director of the HIV/AIDS Program and Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency.
Dr. Bhimani also founded the HIV Specialist Residency Track to bridge the gap in resident education around HIV care. Her professional interests include HIV prevention and treatment, medical education, mentorship, and advancing health equity for underserved communities.
